Police chase speeds through campus area streets

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A car chase on the streets near Western Washington University ends with an arrest and the seizure two guns.

Speeds got up to 55 mph during Wednesday’s pursuit.

The suspect appeared to have escaped until Bellingham Police spotted the car on Mill Avenue.

The driver took off on foot, while a woman in the car stayed put.

Police called the suspect’s cell phone and tried to talk him into giving himself up.

Officers ended up arresting him on Douglas Avenue.

Investigators found two rifles in the car.
