Mariners recall Luetge, option Elias

The Seattle Mariners have recalled left-handed relief pitcher Lucas Luetge from AAA Tacoma and optioned rookie left-handed starting pitcher Roenis Elias to AAA Tacoma.

Luetge has made four appearances for Seattle this season, throwing 3 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, two hits, walking three and striking out two with a 5.40 ERA.

Elias was optioned following his Wednesday start against the Chicago White Sox. The rookie is 9-9 with a 4.4 ERA in 23 starts.

Luetge will be in uniform for Friday’s game against the White Sox.
