Former Mariner Pineda pitches with substance on hand

New York Yankee pitcher Michael Pineda got the win against the Red Sox Thursday night.  The former Seattle Mariner all-star took a two-hit shutout into the seventh, ending up allowing four hits and striking out seven.

Pineda pitched the first four innings with a noticable dark substance on the lower palm of his pitching hand, but it was gone by the fifth.  When asked after the game if it was pine tar, Pineda said it was just dirt.
