Ferndale revokes building permit on unusual house

FERNDALE, Wash. – Work on a big, unfinished, un-permitted, and unusual house on Ferndale’s Main Street has to stop.

The city has revoked the building permit and ordered the owner to clean up the yard within 30 days.

The city also issued a $6,000 fine.

The Bellingham Herald reports construction began in 2005 without a permit.

The owner did get a permit in 2009, but the city says the type of construction taking place was not allowed, so the permit was revoked.

The owner can appeal.
