FERNDALE, Wash. – A Ferndale man killed in a head-on crash on the Guide on New Year’s Eve had not been drinking after all.

Troopers at the scene said they could smell alcohol on Travis Holst’s breath.

They passed that information onto the media.

Toxicology reports show that Holst didn’t have alcohol or any other drugs in his body.

His father Mark is relieved.
