BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Billy McHale’s restaurant in Bellingham is closing at the end of the month.

Owner Kristy Knopp says their lease was up, and rising costs combined with the falling Canadian dollar have made it too risky to stay open.

Billy McHale’s will close on June 30, after 22 years in Bellingham.

The restaurant on Meridian Street shares a parking lot with Costco, which wants to move and take its Canadian traffic to West Bakerview Road.
