A woman who police say helped a man in Friday’s Ferndale stabbing is now in jail.

Police arrested Leslie Villatoro over the weekend.

They say she’s Chad Horne’s girlfriend. Horne is the man investigators believe stabbed a woman in her Patriot Place home before leading officers on a chase and committing suicide before they could get to him.

Detectives tracked down Villatoro at the Blaine home on Rock Crab Drive that she shared with Horne.

They say she admitted to helping Horne commit the crimes.

The motive for the attack still isn’t clear.

The woman Horne’s accused of stabbing is in serious condition at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.
