It isn’t mold season, but Dave Blake with the Northwest Clean Air Agency says it’s the perfect time to remind people about the dangers of mold.

He says they’re contacting apartment building managers with tips to prevent mold.

The hope is the managers will share the information with tenants.

Blake says people should replace warm, wet indoor air with cold outside air by opening doors and windows for 5 minutes.

He says you’ll only lose about 2 percent of your heat.

Blake says people are often so worried about keeping heat in that they don’t realize they’re trapping moisture inside.
