Sanoma describes themselves as a Bellingham surf band, and the jangley guitar sounds are there, but this band has something going for it. When the band was on the show last year, I thought they were a pretty good band. In the meantime, I’ve found the music really growing on me. We’ll meet the band and listen to few cuts off the new CD on this week’s edition of Locals Only.

Mike Streng and Aaron Nicholes are a couple of seasoned musicians with deep ties to what’s left of the music business. Both are not only experienced musicians, but also have extensive experience in the studio. Regardless this is the debut CD release for the pair and the recording reflects their professional experience. Ken Stringfellow, a Bellinghamster and a member of The Posies and REM, collaborated with Voxmirage on this recording. We’ll visit with Mike and listen to some cuts from Voxmirage on this week’s edition of Locals Only.

Pete Irving heads a group of musicians who meld traditional American music with modern sensibilities. Hot Damn Scandal rocks, but the influences of bluegrass and country play a big part in the bands cozy sound. Tune into this week’s program to meet Pete and listen to a few cuts from the band’s latest recordings.
